Mr Achimugu is the Managing Director of Arewa Cotton. He holds an MBA from Southern Cross University, Australia, and a BSC in Accounting from the University of Jos, Nigeria. He has over 20 years of direct and indirect experience in the Nigerian and International Cotton industry; this includes a stint in Arewa Textiles Plc and Plexus Cotton in the United Kingdom. Mr Achimigu has completed multiple National and international courses in different aspects of the life cycle of cotton production. This is complemented by leadership and business management rigorous courses that have further enhanced his knowledge and understanding of Cotton Production, Trading, Leadership and Business in General This wealth of Knowledge and experience he brings to Arewa Cotton, ensuring that we maintain international standards in quality and customer service.
A graduate of Political sciences from the University of Maiduguri and a Masters holder in International Relations from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Mr Achema has the all-important contacts and buying experience needed to provide ArewaCotton with all the raw materials it needs. Mr Achema has worked in both the textile and the cotton industry and gained considerable experience spanning over the last twenty-two (22) years. The time he spent in the textile industry further exposed him to the art of Cotton buying, selling and quality processes, which has proven invaluable to the Trade division he heads
Mr Mgbeahuruike is the Assistant General Manger (Special Duties) of Arewa Cotton. He is currently at the helm of Human Resources and Administration as well as the Cotton House Africa Project EPCP3. He holds a Master of Science, Bachelor of Education degree and a Professional Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in Development Planning, Policy and Administration of the University of Ibadan. With over 12 year’s track record in development programming and civil society governance, Mr Mgbeahuruike has worked passionately in the areas of democratic governance; electoral reforms, stakeholder engagement, public policy advocacy, etc. He joined the Transition Monitoring Group (TMG), Nigeria’s foremost multi-member coalition on election and governance in 2008 as National Coordinator. In 2013, he moved to National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) as resident consultant on PVT technology. In 2010, Mr Mgbeahuruike was invited into the American International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) under which he traversed 10 states of the United States engaging a large spectrum of stakeholders in American democracy and elections. Mr Mgbeahuruike has extensive expertise on project development and program management, fundraising & consultancy on democratic governance, electoral issues, civil society dynamics, training facilitations on sundry subject matters. Mr Mgbeahuruike is the founder of Civic Space Initiative, CSI, an NGO with focus on promoting accountability in agencies and parastatals established with tax payer’s money. He has been a consultant to the British Council/Ministry of Justice on Anti-Corruption strategy, UNDP, Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, West Africa, etc. He recently joined ArewaCotton and is bringing his enormous experiences to bear on the company.
Tony Chinwe is a Deputy General Manager (DGM) of the Company in charge of Corporate Finance and Strategic Planning. His experiences and trainings cut across diverse fields – Civil/Structural Engineering, Project Management, Banking, Financial Advisory Services, Training, SME Consultancy and Business Development Services He has 21 years banking experience. About 9 of those years were spent at Senior Management level. His banking experience cuts across Relationship Management, Loan/Credit Processing, Commercial and retail banking, Investment banking, SME banking, Branch and Regional Management. He, along with his team, set up the SME Banking Department of Fidelity Bank Plc., as the pioneer Group Head of SME of the Bank. Mr. Chinwe started his Career in the Construction Industry where he worked with Messrs Shobowale-Broad-Gloyens & Associates as a Senior Structural Engineer before moving into the Banking sector in 1992. He spent a greater part of his banking career at the then Allstates Trust Bank Plc and Fidelity Bank Plc. He was also the Pioneer CEO of De-SME Facilitators Limited, a Company that is focused on rendering Business Development Consultancy services to SMEs and various Stakeholders in that segment of economic Pyramid, before joining Arewa Cotton & Allied Company Group. Mr. Chinwe is an Alumnus of the University of Lagos. He holds BSc. degree in Civil Engineering with First Class honours and was the best graduating student in Public health Engineering in 1987. He also possesses MSc. (Structural Engineering), MBA, MSc.(Economics), MPA(Specialized in Policy Development and Analysis) and MSc. Construction Management. He was awarded five different prizes as the best all-round MBA graduate of the University of Lagos in 1992. Mr. Chinwe has attended many local and Foreign courses on Management, Leadership, Corporate Finance, Project Finance, Project Management, SME banking, etc. He is married with children.
Mr Abbass holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration both from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He worked in the Banking Industry where he rose to the ranks of Head of Branch and Foreign Operations, a position he held for over 15 years. As Corporate Affairs Manager in ArewaCotton, Mr Abbass will help guide the image profiling efforts of ArewaCotton, playing a key role in shaping the company's policy initiatives, and ensuring professional iteration with stakeholders.
